AMEN was honored to host Professor George Hadjipanayis,
a world-leading authority in magnetic materials and one of the co-inventors of the
NdFeB permanent magnet in 1983–1984, for in-depth discussions on advancing
permanent magnet technologies.
The meeting focused on the next challenges in magnet design, including:
Achieving enhanced coercivity via nanostructuring of Fe₂₋ₓCoₓP₁₋ᵧSiᵧ-type
magnets.
Increasing the energy product of axially compressed bonded magnets based on
AMEN’s high-entropy doped (Nd-Pr)-(La-Ce)FeB compounds.
Outlining requirements for the next generation of magnetic alloys, targeting
permanent magnets with energy products above 520 kJ/m³, well beyond the
performance of current Nd-Dy-Fe-B magnets.
Prof. Hadjipanayis expressed strong enthusiasm for AMEN’s achievements and noted the
state-of-the-art experimental infrastructure now in place. Over the past year, AMEN
has acquired advanced equipment including a Rigaku MiniFlex XRD system, an
automatic hysteriograph magnetometer, a 1400 °C box furnace, a turbopump
vacuum system, SPEX8000 high-energy ball milling, and a complete electrical
resistivity system.
Combined with established arc-melting and powder sintering facilities, these resources
enable AMEN to cover the entire innovation chain: from conceptual design and alloy
fabrication to structural/magnetic characterization and prototype device
development.
To commemorate Prof. Hadjipanayis’s visit and highlight AMEN’s commitment to social
governance and environmental stewardship, the company planted young trees on the
land surrounding its headquarters — a symbolic act reinforcing AMEN’s responsibility
toward the community and the environment.
This integrated approach makes AMEN a unique hub for magnetic materials research
in Greece and Southeastern Europe, bridging fundamental science with applied
technology.
About AMEN
AMEN is dedicated to developing next-generation permanent magnets through innovative alloy design, nanostructuring, and entropy-driven stabilization. Its mission is
to accelerate the transition toward sustainable energy and advanced technologies by
delivering high-performance magnetic solutions while adhering to the highest social and
environmental standards.
