AMEN New Technologies I.K.E. hosted three international researchers—József Sándor Pap, Tímea Benkó, and Irfan Khan—as part of the EU-funded HORIZON-MSCA PacemCAT project (Grant No. 101183082). Their secondments strengthened scientific collaboration between AMEN, the HUN-REN Centre for Energy Research, and partner institutions across Europe, supporting the development of next-generation catalysts for solar hydrogen production.

During his stay, Dr. József S. Pap advanced the selection and design of mixed-metal oxide catalysts, co-authored a joint scientific manuscript with AMEN researchers, and delivered a seminar on innovative strategies for (photo)electrocatalytic surface activation.

Tímea Benkó received specialized training in microwave-assisted synthesis and ball-milling techniques, gaining hands-on experience with nanostructured semiconductors, high-entropy oxides, and emerging 2D layered materials. Her work deepened the scientific exchange between AMEN and the HUN-REN Centre.

Irfan Khan contributed to the characterization of hybrid semiconductor–molecular catalyst systems, performing X-ray diffraction, spectroscopic, and microscopy studies, while also learning advanced ball-milling protocols. His research supported the assessment of catalytic efficiency and electrode surface properties.

These visits highlight PacemCAT’s mission to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and accelerate breakthroughs in renewable hydrogen technologies. AMEN New Technologies remains committed to driving innovation in sustainable energy through strong international partnerships.
